DO YOU THINK THE CAT COULD BE PREGNANT?
I had a young girl offer her cat to me the other day as her older sister kept trying to strangle it and her mother hated it (not nice people) so me being a softie and a doctor dolittle lol couldnt let it go to just anyone so i took it in as she was just knocking on doors and asking! Its young maybe 8 months ish no more. She told me she got as a kitten and it is now 3 months old but it’s rubbish as i already have two 3 month old kittens and they are half the size. She looks healthy (very black glossy coat) but when you pick her up she’s got a hard pot belly. Not huge! You can see slightly at the sides as she walks but not a great deal at the moment! I’ve checked her nipples, They dont look very pink but a little more colour in them than her white skin and the are not swollen but i cant compare to them before as ive had her only 3 days. When you stroke her belly you can feel her nipples as they seem quite hard! Her belly is not lumpy just round hard pot belly. She is not a fat cat just normal. Maybe i just need to wait another couple of weeks!
She has been kinda hiding up till today as a lil nervous but when you get her she is very loving and lies on her back for her belly rubbed. Her stools are normal and is eating a tin of whiskers a day + biscuits. I guess she could have worms i dont think her previous owners would have wormed her as they arnt very respectable people. She will be an indoor cat anyway but if we do keep her she is def gettin spayed.
Just for information!!!! I am a responsible pet owner!!!! I believe no animal would get a more good lovin home than with me! My other kittens were due to be wormed this week anyway so they will be along with the new cat. I have brother and sister kittens and YES the female has already been spayed! I do know alot about cats and had them for years. And a previous cat preggers years ago who i found pregers the day she was due to be spayed argh. But wasnt sure about this one as i cant compare to before. But thanks, Was gonna get her into vet next week anyway if over weekend we decide to keep her!
Waiting a couple of weeks would certainly give you your answer; but coming from the background she has, you should first visit your vet for a total checkup, worming and vaccinations. If the sister tried to strangle the cat, she has come from an abusive environment, so there might be a chance she has internal injuries and that is what is causing the hard belly, so a checkup is definitely required.
The vet will tell you if she’s pregnant during the checkup…

You should take her in and get her vet checked and spayed. It could be a parasite or a stomach problem. Has she been passing stool since you got her?
Either way take her to the vet and get her checked, make sure to get her fixed ASAP.
